There's this thing we believe in.. "A moment before the moment".
It's when we live in a moment's greatness, prior to the actual moment that will stay in our heads.
Let us explain. The picture shows some people running from, what appears to be, a hell about to be broken loose. If you take a much closer look, you will find yourself in a familiar scene, "the tank man". A man who stood in front of a column of tanks on June 5, 1989, the morning after the Chinese military had suppressed the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 by force. A very inspiring moment indeed.
But focus on the moment that came before. That moment that was captured.. You can appreciate how chaotic the upcoming events will possibly be. In the picture, some even appear to be ducking from bullets. But you can also see how the solitude of the tank man is unrivaled. He is part of the street's concrete.
There is a much bigger force behind that courage and there is a much bigger picture to it all.
It is about staying in the moment, fearlessly, even when everyone else is running to the hills and even when the incoming tanks show no mercy. It is about capturing the moment, identifying the greatness of the upcoming events and running to a high point to record it. The actual moment.
That is what this photographer did. Against all odds and human evil, he chose to stay and capture what today is one of the greatest moments in human history. The tank man would not exist without this photgrapher and vice versa. But kudos to those that can easily identify a moment prior a moment. It's like falling in love with ocean's chaos but appreciating the sanity that every other calm wave brings. People have storms raging inside of them. All because we were not taught to stay still in the midst of an explosion. You are not stardust; you are not the product of evolution.. You are the kid to the Greatest of them all. You were given a heart that can change the world. And all of this gives you the power to see whatever is great for your life. Sometimes, you will catch a glimpse of your future and it might seem filled with tanks. But when you choose to pursue it anyways and when you are backed up by Him, your heart will implode in a cathartic manner, releasing love and strength that you didn't know your body could carry, ergo becoming the "tank man".
